Green Passport Essay Contest

Green Passport holders are invited to submit stories about sustainability in study abroad for the annual Green Passport Essay Contest. Studying abroad is an enormous privilege, and we incur a responsibility to put our experiences and knowledge to work for a sustainable future. Share your informative, compelling stories on any number of global sustainability topics, such as these:

What does traveling abroad "responsibly" mean to you, and how do you live green in a different country and offset your global footprint?

How is studying abroad an opportunity to build bridges between communities and to explore the complex relationship between human culture and the environment?

Has studying abroad taught you about a country's environmental challenges or unique sustainability initiatives?

From recycling policies to solar cookers and water purification bikes, green practices and innovations are transforming the world. How are green models making a difference?

What are the environmental concerns you've seen motivating people worldwide to take action for a better planet?

The winning essay will be awarded $100 and published in Abroad View's fall 2009 magazine. All essays will be considered for publication in Abroad View and for the Green Passport website and newsletter.
