Meta Photo Contest
Margaret Riley, Duke University Director and Assistant Dean for Study Abroad, conceived of this idea for Abroad View to host an annual Meta Photo Contest to recognize and promote the many education abroad photo contests organized by U.S. colleges, universities, and study abroad programs. We ask Education Abroad Professionals to send the top 1 to 3 winning photographs from your institution's most recent contest. Photo entries are accepted throughout the year until the annual deadline: May 15.
Photos will be judged in one category of “best in show,” on the basis of artistic merit and on the ability to express an international or cross-cultural experience. A panel of Abroad View editorial board members and student editorial staff members will judge the photos. First, second, and third places are awarded and published in Abroad View and in our website’s Photo Gallery.
Awards: The first-place winner receives $50, and the 2nd and 3rd place winners each receive $25. Your college, university, program, or organization will also receive recognition.
Submit your students’ winning photos to editors@abroadviewmagazine.com or to:

2. Submissions must include the name and complete contact information (address, phone number, and e-mail) of the study abroad or international center faculty member submitting them.
3. Note the date of your photo contest in which the photos were judged originally and what place they were awarded.

STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE:
We do not accept individual submissions from students. If your college or study abroad program does not have a photo contest, we encourage you to talk with your study abroad adviser or program director about starting one. Should you wish to spearhead the effort, Abroad View will be glad to assist you. Please e-mail us at editors@abroadviewmagazine.com.
Students can submit a photo for consideration in Abroad View magazine. We seek high-quality, compelling images for the Cover, A Last Look, the Table of Contents, and for Photo Essays. View our photo submission guidelines here.
RULES:
* Only one entry consisting of up to 3 winning photos from each college or university. Or, please direct us to your college’s photo contest web page. * Only photos from a college’s most recent study abroad or international center photo contest may be submitted.
