Debbie Jefkin-Elnekave is a travel photographer, writer and tour guide who specializes in far-flung regions of the world. She has criss-crossed the globe many times, photographing and writing about exotic cultures of Asia, Africa and Latin America, but she finds the greatest reward in documenting humanitarian work. Her photography and writing have been widely published in a number of well-known magazines and journals.When Debbie is not on tour or on assignment, she pursues her life-long passion for humanitarian service by volunteering as a photojournalist and translator on medical missions to Guatemala, Bolivia, Peru and China. She is co-founder and trustee of the Elnekave Family Fund of the Chicago Community Foundation, and serves as a volunteer fundraiser and grant writer for Partner for Surgery. Debbie holds a Masters Degree in Spanish from Penn State University, and she is the owner of Uncommon Journeys, LLC and the Uncommon Images Photography Collection.
