Dan Knowlton graduated from Middlebury College in 2007 with a degree in English and a minor in Japanese. Dan spent his junior year abroad in Kyoto Japan, and when he returned to Middlebury he completed a yearlong senior creative thesis, a collection of short stories entitled, "Reading Stones," which draw on his experiences living in Japan. Dan has returned to Japan for the 2007/2008 academic year as an assistant language teacher through the JET program in Kobe. He will pursue his passion for writing through developing and expanding on his short stories, writing a Teach Abroad column for the Abroad View Foundation, keeping a weblog of creative non-fiction entries and writing articles for his local newspaper.
