WHY CONTRIBUTE?
The Abroad View Website is a preeminent space for you to share your blogs with a large, interested, and engaged community of globally minded readers.

WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE?
We welcome submissions from college, graduate, and high school students; young college and graduate school alumni; and college faculty and study abroad professionals.

WHEN SHOULD I SUBMIT MY MATERIAL?
Abroad View welcomes submissions at any time.

WHAT KIND OF BLOGS DO WE ACCEPT?
Keep in mind the distinction between a blog that is a personal diary of your experiences meant for family and friends (not what we are looking for) and a more serious/focused blog that either features reflection and commentary on your experience abroad, creative work, or journalistic writing (what we are looking for). You may want to read our tips on journaling and check our "Read Page" to get an idea of the kind of content we are interested in.

Good vs. Bad Blogs

Keep in mind Cornell Abroad Information Services Coordinaor Corinna Lewis's guidelines for good vs. bad blogs:

Examples of Good Blogs
• Reflective
• Comparative
• Succinct
• Personal
• Visual/Auditory/Tactile/Olfactory
• Feelings: humor, fear, pain, surprise, dismay, excitement…
• Exploring different cultural values

Examples of Bad Blogs
• Blow-by-blow/sports cast
• Derogatory/disrespectful/rant
• Too long saying too little
• Disconnected, no sense of personal involvement or caring
• Inappropriate: personal drunkeness/drugs, invasive tabloid-style reporting…
